Heather Wall rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

This medium-bodied Italian red wine is 90% Sangiovese and 10% Merlot on slopes between 470 and 600 metres high with southern exposure. Barrel aged in large French oak casks for 12 months result in a brilliant ruby colour with intense aromas and flavours of ripe red fruit, cherry, violets, leather, pepper, herbal, cedar, earth and smoke. The finish is long and fruit driven with a herbal lift. Tannins are polishing while acidity is vivid and balanced. Pair with grown up grilled cheese with chicken breast in the middle, charcuterie and cheese, pizza, meatloaf. Terrific! Enjoy now with some potential to age.

Natalie's Review

Volpaia Chianti Classico 2011, Tuscany D.O.C.G., Italy: Enticing aromas of sun-dried tomato and baked fruit with a mouth-watering juiciness, smooth texture on this classic Italian red wine. Medium- to almost full-bodied with an attractive lean style for Chianti due to the high altitudes where the vineyards are located. Elegant with great finesse. Lovely long and aromatic finish. This wine is a blend of 90% Sangiovese and 10% Merlot and Syrah grapes, matured for 12 months in oak. Produced by Giovannella Stianti. Pair with lamb. The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
