Berry, full bodied - similar to a Zin...great value
Heather Wall rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

This is a young red wine with some pretty good grippy tannins but nothing that some fine cuts of red meat couldn't tame. This full-bodied red wine has strawberry jam, black plums, blueberry, blackberry, pepper, vanilla, and mocha aromas and flavours. The acidity is a balancing medium+. The length is long with a warm dark fruit finish. Packed with complexity for the $20 price tag. Decant. Cellar potential up to 5 years.
Tasted: February 2015

Natalie's Review

Gladiator Primitivo Di Manduria 2012, Puglia D.O.C., Italy: This robust Italian red wine made from the grape Primitivo is so vibrant and Zinfandel-ish, like its American cousin! Dark purple plums and blackberries and blueberries on the nose and palate. So tasty and smooth and full-bodied. Perfect for pizza and barbecue. This is a wine that will battle its way onto your list of favourites. Aromas of ripe berry fruit, with touches of chocolate and vanilla. Dry, medium bodied, robust and round with a long finish. An exceptional value, this wine will pair delightfully with hearty meat-based pasta dishes. Drink: 2013-2017. 23119 14% XD 750 mL  $19.95 Score: 90/100. The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
