Lynn van der Linde rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Every once in a while, there's a "swear out loud" good wine, and I want to climb the mountains to tell the world! This one of those wines. I tried the Spy Valley Pinot Noir after falling in love with their Sauvignon Blanc. Damn, these people make great wine. The Pinot Noir has harmonious aromas of cherries, cloves, nutmeg and vanilla that carry through on the palate. Pinot Noir scaredy-cats should try it, and Pinot Noir snobs will not be disappointed!
Monique Sosa rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Very nice dried cranberry, coco powder, a little floral and rounded oak. Generous acidity, light bodied, low tannins and lusciously good tart cranberry finish. I am tempted to pair with beef tartare. The acidity match would blow my senses. Otherwise, definitely with a more classic turkey/chicken/Cornish hen or pork tenderloin roast.
Jane Staples rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Dry, fragrant versatile PN from Marlborough, New Zealand. Spice, Nuts, plum and cocoa on the nose, followed by a wonderful rich palate layered with dark fruit, earth, nuts, spice, meaty aspects and vanilla. So much going on in this wonderful PN! Bright acidity, finely balanced and a mouth-watering long finish. Made from hand-picked grapes and using wild yeasts, resulting in more concentrated and complex.flavours.
Heather Wall rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

A robust and savoury Pinot Noir from the South Island of New Zealand. Brilliant ruby colour with aromas that leap from the glass. Succulent dark plum, cherry, smoked meat, toast, cedar, perfume bottle. The palate is equally meaty and robust with an underbrush quality over the dark fruit and baking spices. The tannins are integrating with lively acidity. The length is good with a warm fruit driven finish. A very nice Pinot. Hand harvested and low yielding harvest. Aged in French oak for 11 months. Pair with planked salmon, roasted lamb or pork.

Natalie's Review

Spy Valley Wine Pinot Noir 2012, Marlborough, South Island, New Zealand: Generous oak with fleshy ripe cherries. Smooth and full-bodied. For those who love power pinots. Extended oak aging makes this a pinot with a turbo boost of testosterone. Drink: 2013-2017. 242205 14.50% XD 750 mL  $24.95 Score: 89/100. January 24, 2015 Scrumptious Seafood Wine  Full Review
