In the style of the Rasteau Cru this wine balances Grenache and Syrah grapes with the red berry and black currant flavours complimenting the complex garrigue notes and warming spices. With ripe tannins, medium body, and refreshing acidity this elegant wine is long on the finish.
Drink now or cellar until 2020.

Medium ruby with purple colour. This Grenache with Syrah blend is medium bodied and aromatic. Red berries, dried red fruit, black currant leaf, earthy, leather. Palate delivers some blueberry, anise, black earth and pepper. Fermented and aged in concrete vats. Smooth tannins. Drinking nicely now or keep for next 3 years. Long length on a fruit driven finish.
Red meats, pepper steak.
Interesting fact: More French winemakers are returning to concrete vats for reds. Greater temperature control and preservation fruit characteristics.

A deep ruby red aromatic wine with ripe dark cassis and dried herbs on the nose, made from biodynamically grown grapes. Wonderfully balanced dark berries, garrique and touch of earth on the silky-smooth palate. Elegant, satin mouthfeel with just-right acidity, which is the Chapoutier signature. Long ripe blackcurrant finish. Aged in concrete vats to maintain temperature control and optimize fruit flavours. Drink 2015-1018. I will definitely buy this one again.

Michel Chapoutier's Rasteau is a blend of Grenache and Syrah. Farmed biodynamically, this fresh wine has seen no oak as it was fermented and aged in concrete vats to retain that fresh youthful fruit characteristic. Crimson red with a purple hue, the nose shows fresh raspberry, blueberry, grilled peppers, and sweet floral notes. Medium bodied, it's a zippy refreshing wine with a lengthy raspberry and pepper finish. Very nice and great value. Tasted November 2014. 89+ points. Matt Steeves @QuercusVino
