Trevor Sabourin rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

This is a fairly typical, medium-bodied, moderately oaky Bordeaux-style blend, made from almost a third each of cab franc, cab sauv, and merlot, with small portions of petit verdot and Malbec. The aromas are a mix of red berries, cassis, and plums, along with substantial tobacco, smoke, and cedar, with hints of menthol, bell pepper, and pencil shavings. On the palate the fruit is mostly raspberry, cherry, and blackberry, the oak manifests as cocoa/mocha, and some leather, herbs and warm baking spice join in. The acidity and tannins are both moderate, and there is a bit of alcohol heat. This is a good value, with good complexity and balance. Tasted Aug. 2016.

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
