Mark Cochrane Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

I've tried their Big House White so why not try their Big House Zinfandel. It's a blend with mostly Zinfandel (80%) and it's not as heavy as some pure Zinfandel's but it has that nice rich jammy dark fruit that comes with a Zin. Some malolactic fermentation helps give it a softer feel. Cardinal Zin pairs nicely with BBQ pork tenderloin .
Carla rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

I picked up this bottle because the name fits really well with my Cooking With Sin project and it's a really good bang for the buck. It has a lovely, clear ruby red colour with lightly roasted and smokey raisins and blackberries. It ends with a gentle bitter chocolate finish. Being from the east, I have only recently been introduced to the red zins and they are now among my favourites.

Natalie's Review

Big House Winery Cardinal Zin Zinfandel 2011, California, United States: Incredibly great price for such a delicious, full-bodied red! Smoky with toasty oak, mocha and fleshy black plum aromas. There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
