Darlene Myers rated this wine as 94/100 with the following review:

I know heaven in a glass is over-used, but this was close. A gorgeous deep red color with purple highlights and very aromatic with flavors of coffee, spice and a light floral note. Soft tannins greet the palate with flavors of the cocoa and the juicy fruits of the Merlot shining through. This was a treat.
Gabriel Israel rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

91-92 Another example of how 2001 Bordeaux wines are shadowed by the overhyped 2000 vintage. This wine is full body. Silky-smooth. Hints of bell pepper (Cab Franc?). Sophisticated. Meaty. Cassis. Blackberries. What a wonderful Bordeaux. Ready to drink.

Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Rex Pickett, Sideways

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
