Here's a classic Californian Zinfandel: big, juicy and full of good-natured black and purple plums with a splash of blueberries. It rolls around in your mouth, and welcomes a host of dishes to roll with it, from hamburgers to pizza. Mouth-watering flavours of fleshy brambleberry that carry through on the finish. Supple with black pepper notes.

Zinfandel food pairings: gourmet sausages, grilled Portobello mushrooms, meat sauce pasta, aged cheddar.

Reviews and Ratings

Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Pungent floral and jammy notes are in style here. Bursts of red jammy fruit, a touch of mint and cedar are the dominant notes. This California Zinfandel is very much approachable and easy drinking with moderate tannins and a decently structured acidity-alcohol-flavour content. It would pair well with thick juicy burgers hot off the bbq. Tasted July 2016. @sommsosa | bespoketastings.ca
From California's Mendocino Valley the Zig Zag Zin (2013) is a big wine, juicy with a mouthful of ripe black and purple plums and mulberries and finishes with cracked black pepper. A very interesting Zin with a lot of character. Try it with roast chicken or grilled vegetable shish kebabs. - Community Wine Reviews
