Reviews and Ratings

Zacharias Malagousia from the Peloponnese P.G.I. is a bright, medium-bodied white made from one of Greece's most seductively aromatic indigenous varieties, grown across the family's 40-plus hectares of hillside vineyards around the village of Leontio in Nemea, where the Mediterranean climate and sloping terrain bring out the grape's natural floral intensity and tropical vibrancy. It opens with an expressive, perfumed nose of white nectarine, bergamot zest, and ripe papaya, leading to a palate that is fresh and elegantly structured, with lively acidity and a clean, mineral-edged finish that lingers pleasantly. Serve it well chilled and enjoy it through 2030 while its aromatic character is at its most captivating. Winemaker Ilias Zacharias, an agronomist who modernized the family estate in 1973 by introducing French winemaking expertise to Nemea, built what became the largest and most historically significant private winery in the appellation, with the family now in its second generation of winemaking. Fascinatingly, although Zacharias only began releasing bottled wines under their own label in 2002, the winery itself has been in continuous operation since 1960, with its original French-style concrete tanks still standing alongside state-of-the-art modern equipment. - Community Wine Reviews

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
