From Austria’s Kremstal, the Winzer Krems Ried Kremser Wachtberg Reserve 2023 Grüner Veltliner shimmers medium yellow-green with silver highlights and opens with layered tropical notes of guava, honeyed blossoms and a whisper of apricot. On the nose it’s brightened by fine herbs, orange blossom petals, a hint of white pepper and fresh citrus oils. The palate is elegantly poised, mouth-watering and juicy, as honeydew melon ripeness meets a steely, saline undercurrent and a touch of spice on the finish. Exceptionally versatile, it’s delicious now—serve well chilled alongside creamy brie and chèvre or a zesty scallop ceviche.

Grüner Veltliner food pairings: seafood dishes, smoked salmon on baguette, herbed quiches, brunch dishes.

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
