Reviews and Ratings

Greg Hughes rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Auxerrois goes by many different names in more than a few regions in France. It is probably best recognized as a key ingredient in Cremant d'Alsace. Common Auxerrois Blanc is likely the offspring of Gouais Blac and Fromenteau, as is Chardonnay.
Pretty golden hue.
Aromas of nectarine , lees (the wine making notes hint at possible barrel aging), ranier cherry, quince, tangerine, and sunchoke, and hayloft.
Flavours revolve around stone fruit: peach, nectarine. Cantaloupe, honey, qiunce, dried pineapple, yellow mango, and subtle brown spice.
This was one of my favourite finds for 2016.
There isn't really many examples of Auxerrois in Niagara, but maybe there should be more. It tends to oxidize quickly and lose its fresh lustre, so buy a few for picnic season. This wine presents a solid value. Pair it with blue crab and potato salad.
