A long hallway of breezy menthol and black plum aromas and flavour. Complex, deep, rich and full-bodied. Savoury and meaty. Do you really need more descriptors?

Reviews and Ratings

This wine also earned a rave from erobertparker.com (Dec. 2010), scoring 92 points! A perennial favorite, Wakefield’s St. Andrews bottling shows how good certain parts of Clare can be for Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2006 displays a masterful blend of cedar, chocolate, mocha, cassis, baking spices and leather, all wrapped in an elegant coat of dusty but supple tannins. Drink 2015-2025. Cellar Selection. Score: 93 Source: Joe Czerwinski, Vintages Wine Catalogue.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
