Natalie's Score: 90/100

At peak - it might hold for a few more years but drink now. Lovely mature aromas of tanned leather, violets and cigar box. Pair with juicy lamb. OTHER: Really aromatic and fresh with blueberry, blackberry and floral character. Full body, chewy and muscular. Needs at least three years to soften but already so pretty to taste. Drink in 2020. Score - 93 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, July 11, 2017).

Barolo food pairings: meaty stews, roast gamebirds, meat lover's pizza topped with steak.

Reviews and Ratings

From the Del Commune Di Serralunga D'alba, Piedmont wine region, Vite Colte Essenze 2011 is a well-priced Barolo made from 100% Nebbiolo grapes. Lots of ripe blueberry, dark berry and pink floral flavours on the palate. Full body, powerful with chewy tannins. Needs time to tame but has lots of potential. Cellar for three more years and drink from 2021 on. Pair with roast beast. - Community Wine Reviews

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
