Terrific bold red wine from Chile's Maipo Valley. This wine is made from diverse blocks of Cabernet Sauvignon grapes within the Maipo Valley. The wine was aged for 12 months in French oak barrels. A savoury and juicy Chilean cabernet sauvignon with aromas of fleshy black plums and blackberries. A full-bodied red wine that's smooth and eminently gulpable. Dark red in the glass, mouth-filling in the palate. Finishes with smoke and spice. Great depth and length in the glass and on the palate. Polished tannins and a good finish. Great with pizza or gourmet hamburgers.

This wine is heady and ages decently well - examples that were seven to ten years showed remarkable evolution. They're spicey, savoury, and compelling.
Tarapaca's Cab comes from Maipo, which generally tends to be one of Chile's hottest hinterlands for hot climate red grapes.
Great combination of spice and fruit for a wine with a sensible, but noticeable twelve months of oak. Previous vintages saw fifteen to twenty four.
Fragrant notes of balsam, blackberry, and cassis. Forrest floor, grilled pepper, and damson, after being left to breathe.
Flavours of black pepper, red and black fruit, and liquorice.
This wine gets extra marks for value. A sincere example of Maipo quality like this usually hits highter than "almost twenty bucks."

Just when you think you have a handle on a wineries style of winemaking along comes a surprise. Typically more reserved, Tarapaca has made a big full throttle CS offering classic cassis along with Chilean chalkiness. Replays perfectly on the palate.
