Vignerons de Bel-Air Bourgogne Pinot Noir from Burgundy is a medium-bodied red from one of southern Burgundy's most prominent cooperatives, established in 1929 and now counting over 300 member growers, giving this wine an impressive breadth of terroir to draw from. Sourced from 15-year-old vines rooted in schist and granite soils, it opens with a nose of dried hibiscus, candied orange peel and a delicate suggestion of warm brioche, flowing into flavours of pomegranate, blood plum and a savory whisper of smoked tea on the palate, all supported by a lively, mouthwatering acidity and a finish of very good length. It is bone dry with slightly firm tannins that will knit together beautifully with another year or two in bottle, best served just below room temperature, and will continue to evolve through 2028. Winemaker oversight across this large cooperative ensures a remarkably consistent and expressive style that punches well above its weight for a Burgundy at this price point. Serve it with roasted duck finished with a cherry reduction, where the wine's bright acidity and pomegranate fruit will play beautifully against the richness of the bird, or pair it with mustard-glazed salmon straight from the oven, letting its delicate structure and savoury undertones complement the dish's bold, tangy glaze.

Pinot Noir food pairings: roasted duck, roasted turkey, mustard-glazed salmon.
