Great value on Valdelacierva's Crianza 2013 made from the classic Tempranillo grape from the heart of the Rioja wine region. Look for mouth-watering acidity and layers of ripe cherry, fresh herb, anise and smoky flavours on the palate. Pair with roast leg of lamb.

Food pairings: lamb breast stuffed with veal pork and green herbs, spinach cake, roast pork.

Reviews and Ratings

Great value on Valdelacierva's Crianza 2013 made from the classic Tempranillo grape from the heart of the Rioja wine region. The wine is aged in American oak barrels for one year adding some smokiness and additional body and character to this medium-weight red wine. Look for mouth-watering acidity and layers of ripe cherry, fresh herb, anise and smoky flavours on the palate. Pair with roast leg of lamb. - Community Wine Reviews

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
