The Trapiche Terroir series of wines are made from several wineries around the Mendoza wine growing area. Their 2013 Terroir Series Orellana De Escobar is an elegant wine now and could cellar for a half-dozen years or more. This benchmark single vineyard Argentine red wine made from the iconic Malbec grape features aromas of blackberry, smoke, spice and anise. Luxuriously layered and rich with a thick mouth-coating texture and weight of flavours. A hint of mint on the nose wrapped on ripe black fruit, then a coffeed-espresso finish. Such a wonderfully unusual and decadent wine. Decant 1-2 hours and pair with game meats and great conversation. Superb craftsmanship.

Malbec food pairings: roasted lamb, veal dishes, grilled pork chops, cheese.
