Toscolo translates to Tuscan boy. A delicious blend of Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon with mulberry and bright cherry aromas on the nose. Dry, medium-plus-bodied with bright cherry, vanilla, cedar spice and minty flavours on the palate. Structured, fine tannins and with good acidity for food. Pair with a mushroom risotto or pasta Bolognese.

Chianti Classico food pairings: stuffed roasted turkey, steak topped pizza, pasta in tomato sauce, breaded veal cutlets.

Reviews and Ratings

Linda Mertes WSET 2 rated this wine as 85/100 with the following review:

A medium-bodied Chianti with the typical cherry nose, accompanied by aromas of black berries and vanilla. Medium tannins and a dry medium finish. Serve with pizza, cheesy pasta, and grilled or roasted meats, including veal.
From the Tuscany wine region, Toscolo 2016 is a smoky, medium-plus-bodied Chianti Classico with ripe, fresh cherry, vanilla, cedar, eucalyptus, mint, dusty dried herbs and dark chocolate flavours on the palate. Tannins are structured. Enjoy with a meaty lasagna dish. - Community Wine Reviews
