The southern Italian wine region of Puglia is home to the Tormaresca winery established by the Antinori family in 1999. The 2015 vintage of the robust Primitivo Torcicoda hails from a strong vintage. Balanced, almost restrained for Primitivo aka the Italian version of Zinfandel. Black plums and blackberries with a smooth, supple texture. The grapes are farmed organically. Perfect for roast beef.

Primitivo food pairings: acorn squash apples and cabbage bake, stuffed zucchini with herbs tomatoes onions and garlic, stuffed baked tomatoes.

Reviews and Ratings

Tormaresca Torcicoda 2015 is a dark and rich Primitivo from the Puglia wine region. Look for ripe black plum, blackberry flavours on this smooth and velvety medium-bodied red made from organically-grown grapes. - Community Wine Reviews

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
