Tombacco Del Beneventano Aglianico delivers concentrated notes of raspberry, tobacco leaf and cracked black pepper. It's dry and full-bodied with firm tannins. Serve it at room temperature with spicy grilled chorizo where the wine's bold structure stands up to the sausage's heat and fat while its earthy depth complements the paprika, or cellar it through 2030. The Tombacco family has produced wines for over a century in Italy, now led by the third generation, and sources this Aglianico from the Benevento province in Campania—a region where the grape has been cultivated since ancient Greek colonizers introduced it over 2,000 years ago, earning it the nickname "Barolo of the South" for its noble character. This robust wine also pairs wonderfully with slow-braised lamb ragu over fresh pappardelle, where the wine's intense fruit matches the sauce's richness while its tannic grip cuts through the pasta's satisfying weight.

Food pairings: grilled chorizo, cheesy pizza, lamb ragu.
