Natalie's Score: 89/100

A firm tannic grip o the palate: needs cellar time then decant 2 hours. This full-bodied red wine wonder is a blend of 56% Cabernet Sauvignon and 44% Shiraz grapes. It packs a lot of black fruit flavour along with attractive dark spices, pepper and anise. It's concentrated, rich and deep with a long, satisfying finish. Bring it on with a prime rib dish.

Cabernet Sauvignon Shiraz food pairings: prime rib roast, slow-braised beef short ribs, barbequed lamb ribs.

Reviews and Ratings

Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Smoky dark berries with fresh eucalyptus and menthol galore! Super fresh with great dark fruit concentration along with loads of fine tannins making this a prime candidate to enjoy with grilled steak. Tasted June 2016. 91 points. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca
This full-bodied red wine wonder from the Barossa Valley is a blend of 56% Cabernet Sauvignon and 44% Shiraz grapes. Mint and black currant on the nose. Mixed ripe berries, menthol, dried savoury herbs, leather and dark chocolate on the palate. It has it all. Acidity and fruit are balanced, but tannins are firm there is no doubt. If you are going to have it now, decant it for two hours before serving it with prime rib. Much better to let it continue to develop in cellar for half-dozen years -- at least. - Community Wine Reviews
