This is a vibrant blend of 60% Gamay Noir and 40% Pinot Noir grapes to create a medium-bodied, supple, smooth Niagara red wine. Notes of sour cherry and cranberry. This wine is aged in French oak barrels for 10 months. Ripe tannins and lots of acidity for tomato sauce dishes.

Food pairings: vegetarian lasagne, roasted garlic and lemon chicken, pork sausage cassoulet.

Reviews and Ratings

Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

60/40 Gamay Noir and Pinot Noir in this red blend from the Niagara Bench. These two cool climate performers have been beautifully crafted for easy drinking and pairing. Ripe Spring berries, floral and sweet cigar box on the nose. This light-bodied red has some smoothing tannins and cleansing acidity. Candied cherry, underbrush, warm spices and herbs de Provence round out the flavours. Lingering berry notes on the finish. Very pretty wine and terrific value. Easter Dinner wine.

From Ontario's Niagara Peninsula, Thirty Bench, Winemaker's Blend Double Noir is a zesty wine blend of 60% Gamay Noir and 40% Pinot Noir grapes. This wine is aged in French oak barrels for 10 months and the wine is a perfect pairing for tomato sauce dishes or aged hard cheeses. - Community Wine Reviews
