Reviews and Ratings

Rebecca Meir-Liebman - Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Emma Garner is one of the most talented Canadian winemakers and well known for her quality Riesling, which will now have to share the spotlight with her great Chardonnay. Displaying good winemaking technique, it’s very well-balanced, buttery, and creamy. On the nose, notes of lime and apple. Good length with fresh minerality and well-integrated acidity which balances the loads of baked Breton and butter flavours that are very noticeable on the palate. Garner takes a hands-on approach to winemaking, stirring and ageing this wine on its lees in French oak for 10 months, which heightens the buttery texture and body weight. What results is a pleasant combination of New World winemaking technique with cool climate freshness, which lingers on the palate with a lovely medium to long finish.
Thirty Bench Winemaker's Blend 2016 is a white wine blend of Chardonnay, including 10% Chardonnay Musqué from the Niagara-on-the-Lake wine region. Look for baked apple, buttered toast and tropical fruit flavours on the palate on this dry and creamy Chardonnay. Pair with barbequed chicken. - Community Wine Reviews

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
