Natalie's Score: 91/100

A crisp, vibrant Greek white wine blend of Assyrtiko, Greece's best-known white grape, and Sauvignon Blanc. Less grassy than New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc, this has the same intensity and refreshment and mouth-watering acidity for seafood and shellfish. Aromas of white grapefruit and lime zest. Terrific!

Food pairings: goat cheese salad and spring greens, pan-fried panfish, sushi.

Ktima Pavlidis is situated in the region of Drama, in northern Greece and was founded by Christoforos Pavlidis in 1998. Currently, there are 65 hectares of vines cultivated in both Greek indigenous and international varieties. The Assyrtiko and Sauvignon Blanc wine grapes for Thema (2016) were hand-picked, sorted and the wine was fermented in controlled temperature tanks. Zesty citrus and fresh melon on the palate, this wine is a perfect pairing to fatty, rich fish, ceviche or carpaccio recipes. - Community Wine Reviews

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
