Reviews and Ratings

Greg Hughes rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

This is a great bargain for a tasty aromatic white. I like it when new world regions experiment with non-traditional grape varietals. This wine has a touch of residual sugar (maybe in the vicinity of 10-15 g/l), but it remains in balance with the refeshing acids and depth it gets from the blend.
Pale straw colour.
Powdered sugar, pineapple, peach, and golden apple on the nose. True to its components, it jumps out at you.
Orchard fruit, candied ginger, lemon, and pear on the palate.
Ehrenfelser is a Riesling×Sylvaner cross that reflects aromas and flavours similar to both it's parents, but has a less crystalline structure than Riesling and less vegetative aromas than Sylvaner. It's soft and approachable, wjen compared to its parents. Pair this blend with ginger shrimp.
The View Winery boasts spectacular views of Kelowna and Okanagan Lake. Sandy loam soils combined with long hot summer days and cool evening breezes from the lake are perfect conditions for The View’s signature fresh, fruity, aromatic wines. Originally built by Great Granddad Ward in 1922, the building in which we craft and cellar our wines was once the original Ward’s Apple Packinghouse and is the last from its era in the Okanagan. For five generations our family has supported a commitment to tradition, authenticity and excellence. Our alluring wines point to the future and celebrate the past.

70% Gewürztraminer 20% Ehrenfelser 10% Riesling

Infuse some positivity into your day with our Silver Lining back label, featuring fun, inspirational quotes on the power of positive thinking from great minds such as Plato, the Dalai Lama, Winnie the Pooh and even Dr. Seuss. A mouth-watering blend of Gew/Riesling and Ehrenfelser, Silver Lining Estate White opens up with aromas of honeysuckle, peach, pear and melon. Flavours of baked apple pie and Asian pear give way to a zippy lemon-lime soda finish.
