Natalie's Score: 90/100

A full-bodied juicy Italian red wine with lots of heft and mouth-filling flavour. Dark cherry and black plum, almost prune on the nose of this D.O.C. wine. Good value. This is one of the best producers of ripasso. Featuring aromas of coffee and black cherry. Great dry finish for a wide range of dishes, especially hearty meat ones.

Food pairings: hamburger, hearty soups, pasta, Mediterranean cuisine.

Reviews and Ratings

Wonderfully complex with layers of dark plum, cherry and prune on the nose. More layers on the palate of dark plum, dark fruits, coffee and black cherry. A full-bodied, fruity Italian red wine done in ripasso style and with a lot of structure, balance and flavour. Hearty Italian fare for this one. - Community Wine reviews

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
