A spectacular blend of cabernet sauvignon (48%), cabernet franc (36%) and merlot (16%) aged 18 months in French oak. Smooth, fleshy and full-bodied, this luxurious red delivers seductive aromas of dark plums and berries with a hint of smoke. Not too heavy, but deeply satisfying with a juicy, generous style.

Meritage Tawse Niagara Peninsula food pairings: grilled beef or bison steak, roast beef, lamb chops.

Reviews and Ratings

This blend of 48% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% cabernet Franc and 16% Merlot was individually matured in French barriques. Deep ruby in coulour, this red displays ripe fruit, earthy notes of tobacco, cedar, freshly turned soil, spicy elements of pepper, bitter dark chocolate and liquorice. On the palate, it is rich, balanced and complex with great ageing potential.

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
