Rich, round and full-bodied with generous layers of vibrant green apple aromas and just the right amount of toasty oak. A chardonnay lover's chardonnay.

Chardonnay food pairings: pasta with seafood and creamy sauce, grilled chicken, cedar plank salmon, creamy cheeses.

Reviews and Ratings

Louise Wilson - ISG Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

From a blend of fruit sourced from the Quarry Road and Robin’s Block vineyards, this luscious, full-bodied Chardonnay offers ripe red apple fruit wrapped in luxurious oak. (Barrel aged and fermented in 20% new French oak for 14 months). Bright acidity keeps the wine from feeling heavy. Generous concentration and length. Perfectly satisfying. Fantastic alongside baked macaroni and cheese, or cozied up to a bowl of corn chowder. Drink to 2015. Tasted Dec 2013.
The Estate Chardonnay is a combination of fruit from our estate chardonnay vineyards. This marriage of the different terroirs results in a wine of great complexity and balance. A year in French Oak barrels was followed by six months in stainless steel tanks. The estate Chardonnay is a medium bodied chardonnay, with a perfect balance of fruit and structure. The nose is layered, beginning with fresh, crisp lemony citrus and ripe MacIntosh apples. The characteristic minerality of our Estate vineyards is evident, contributing a ‘stoney’ character to the wine. Estate Chardonnay is equally suited to sipping on its own, or being paired with an array of foods.

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
