Black cherry liqueur flavours: rich and delicious especially for this price. Juicy and mouth-watering with good acidity for tangy tomato sauces and hearty meat dishes. Smooth and full-bodied. Great value.

Food pairings: pork tenderloin, prime rib, roast chicken.

Reviews and Ratings

From the Symington Family Estates, Altano (2015) is a rich, deep red wine blend of Tinta Roriz, Touriga Franca and Tinta Barroca from the Douro wine region. Fantastic value here with the wine showing ripe, black cherries on the palate with savoury spices and earthy florals. Great acidity on this wine makes it a good candidate for grilled fare or meatlover's pizza. - Community Wine Reviews

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
