A benchmark Californian Cabernet Sauvignon from the heart of Napa Valley. This stunning red wine offers layered complexity and flavour. Aromas of ripe blackberries mingle with cedar. Great length, depth, balance and savoury character. This towering Californian red wine is an excellent cellar candidate. It also makes for a superb dinner party wine, but don't just save it for then. Serve it tonight with a well-seasoned pepper steak.

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: steak, hearty meat dishes, hard cheese, prime rib.

Reviews and Ratings

The 2012 vintage of this stunning Cabernet Sauvignon Estate The Leap was matured 20 months in 50% new French oak barrels. This wine is a blend of the most expressive barrels from select blocks on the Stags' Leap estate vineyards, with well-draining soils that produce wines with a long life. Stags' Leap Estate The Leap (2012) is vintage Californian. This is a big wine that can leap through any barbequed steak you can throw at it. Although wine grapes have been growing at the Stags' Leap Estate since the late 1800s, the estate is a working range that also grows fruit orchards, nuts and olives. - Community Wine Reviews
