Deep-rooted cherry bliss, berry ripeness and a cranberry edge just in case you feel too familiar with this wine -- it has a lovely bite. Full-bodied yet not heavy. Beautiful balance. The 2010 vintage offers some cedar smoke on a ling finish. Polished tannins, polished wine polished off quickly.

The name of this wine is pronounced "state land" and is named after the famous mapmaker for the country in 1642, Abel Tasman. The grapes are grown on 52 acres of vineyards in the heart of the Marlborough Rapaura district. The vines are planted over 14 different blocks that vary from stony river banks to loamy riverbeds. They're handpicked and cold soaked before fermentation. The wine is aged in French oak barrels for 14 months. - Community Wine Reviews

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
