Natalie's Score: 90/100

Light greenish yellow with silver reflections. Delicately mineral, with fine apple notes, a hint of honeydew melon and nuances of orange zest: an inviting bouquet. Medium body, with sweet fruit nuances, fine acidity and mineral-salty finish. A piquant food wine. Score - 91. (Peter Moser, falstaff.com, April 18, 2025) MINE: Stadt Krems' Grüner Veltliner from Kremstal is a crisp, medium-bodied white wine offering notes of green apple, honeydew melon, orange zest and fresh herbs. This dry wine displays fine acidity and mineral-salty finish that make it an ideal food wine. Serve it well chilled with pan-fried schnitzel as the wine's piquant character cuts through the breaded pork, or pair it with fish and chips where the wine's bright acidity balances the fried batter. Winemaker Franz Türk crafts this elegant Grüner Veltliner from sustainably grown grapes in the Kremstal region, where loess soils and the Danube's moderating influence create wines with distinctive mineral complexity and delicate fruit nuances. Stadt Krems is the historic city winery of Krems, producing quality wines that showcase the region's exceptional terroir at accessible prices. This clean, briny wine represents excellent quality and will drink beautifully through 2029. NEW: Pork schnitzel is the classic Austrian match for this Grüner. The town of Krems on the Danube has run its own winery since 1452. Grüner Veltliner thrives in the region's loess soils. White pepper and ripe pear add up to a crisp, savoury snap. Few civic services have been this popular for this long.

Grüner Veltliner food pairings: fish and chips, pork schnitzel, fried chicken.
