Black and purple plums on the nose, followed by a juicy, mouthwatering, full-bodied weight on the palate. This is a DOC wine. Some sweet raspberry on the finish. Perfect for pizza.

Reviews and Ratings

Emilie Ryan rated this wine as 85/100 with the following review:

Appearance: a beautiful ruby red

Nose: blackberries, cherries, earth, meat, a little alcohol

Taste: Sour cherries, leather, earth. Can be enjoyed by itself, but is better with food. I had it with cheeses and chocolate. It paired well with the Parmesan and aged cheddar, the latter rounding out the wine, though perhaps losing some of its complexity. It would probably pair very well with pasta in red sauce. It did not pair well at all with the dark chocolate, surprisingly enough.

Finish: the alcohol remains for some time, as do the sour cherries.

Overall impression: A decent red wine. It was good for a Saturday night playing cards with friends and snacking on cheeses/antipasti. It had a little complexity, but not much. It should not displease anyone.

Rating (from 70 to 100): 85/100

Value: 4/5 – Pretty good value, as it was under $20.
Julie Lautens rated this wine as 82/100 with the following review:

Too jammy fruity
