This Merlot was 85% barrel aged in a combination of American and French oak. During the grape growing season, the same fog that blankets Sonoma County each night collects in the needles of the coastal redwoods, and drips down to their root zone. Essential for grape quality, fog is equally essential to these redwoods, which are found only on the California coast, and measure as the tallest trees on the planet, growing easily over 300 feet and living as long as 2000 years. A warm embrace of wine with sweet cherries, plums and vanilla richness. Full-bodied with a mocha-infused finish. Closed with a screwcap.

Merlot food pairings: cheeseburgers, prime rib steak, parmesan cheese, chicken stir-fry, lamb chops.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
