Vibrant and alive, though the acidity mid-palate will surprise. Worry not. Give this wine the food it deserves: big pasta or meat dishes. Huge mouth-drying tannins so decant 2 hours, or better yet, give this cellar time.

Barolo food pairings: rich tomato sauce and pasta dishes, full-bodied meat dishes.

Reviews and Ratings

Sobrero Ciabot Tanasio 2013 is a vibrant and big Barolo from the Piedmont wine region. This Barolo made by the Sobrero Family is named after their original home. “Ciabot” means “small house” in Piemontese dialect. Typically the Cabot was in the middle of Nebbiolo vineyards. The grapes for this wine were selected from the Pernanno, Valentino, and Piantà vineyards. The wine was then aged for 24 months in oak Botti prior to bottling. Look for dried red berries raspberry jam, rose petal, cake spice, tobacco and trufflie flavours on the palate. Decant 1-2 hours and drink now with a rich game dish or hold in cellar for 10 years. - Community Wine Reviews

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
