João Brito e Cunha - bottled in 2014. OTHER: The 2012 Vintage Port "S.J" (spelled just that way on the label; a reference to the Quinta, São José) is an old vines field blend (80-years-old) made up of principally Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and Sousão. About half of the juice was aged for approximately 24 months in very old French casks; the rest in stainless steel. Inky black, primary and fresh, this is not a Port with a lot of concentration or pure power, but it has enough of everything. In particular, it becomes rather more intense with a few days in the fridge, showing off more power than it initially seemed to have. Its ability to taste great and be remarkably fresh is what really makes it a winner. There is a bit of herbs, a touch of resin and garrigue as a flavor medley. You can drink this relatively young, or hold it. The style makes it more or less accessible, but it certainly has plenty of room to improve in the cellar over the next decade or more. Drink Date: 2020-2050. Score - 91 (Mark Squires, robertparker.com, Dec. 30, 2015). - Community Wine Reviews

Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Rex Pickett, Sideways

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
