McLaren Vale's ancient ironstone soils, warm Mediterranean days, and cool Southern Ocean nights make it one of Australia's most compelling origins for Shiraz, and Sister's Run draws on the best estate parcels to produce a wine of opulent, perfumed complexity that punches well above its price. Blackberry compote, crushed pepper, dried sage, and a toasty cedar note rise from the glass before a generous palate of dark plum, warm clove, and earthy depth carries to a long, moreish finish with supple tannins. Drink it now through 2031 with rare roast beef, grilled pork chops, or blue cheese.

Shiraz food pairings: rare roast beef, grilled pork chops, blue cheese.

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
