An intense and concentrated Spätlese Riesling, elegant with flinty, citrus and mineral aromas mirrored on the palate. Lush, sweet and balanced with brilliant acidity. Good now, but can age for years. Pour with spicy fish dishes, curries and Korean-style ribs.

Riesling Spätlese food pairings: mild curries, roast chicken, Korean-style ribs, garlic pork roast.

Reviews and Ratings

Selbach-Oster Wehlener Sonnenuhr 2018 Riesling Spatlese is intense and concentrated with lemon drop, flinty, mineral flavours matched with brilliant acidity and luxuriously mouth-filling. Johannes Selbach and his wife Barbara run the Estate which is now one of the leading producers in the Mittel Mosel. There are 10.6 hectares of vineyards including holdings in Wehlener Sonnenuhr, Zeltinger Sonnenuhr and Graacher Dowmprobst. Wine grapes are hand-harvested with natural fermentation in old Mosel Fuder. This Spatlese has room to grow. Try in 2024. - Community Wine Reviews

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
