Reviews and Ratings

The sweet peach and pear notes are there but balanced by racy, nervy acidity that makes this wine a lovely sip. Pair with glazed ham and chutney. Medium-bodied and delicious. MINE: This Riesling from the Rheingau Qualitätswein is lush with peach, apricot, ripe apple, caramel, petrol and orange blossoms. Schloss Schonborn Estate XXXX has it all with balance, grace and a nervy acidity. Excellent now and with any pork tenderloin or pork roast dish. OTHER: Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review: Minerality and citrus aromas, followed by ripe peach, apple and citrus with mineral touches. Dry and silky with elegant finish. Tasted August 2016. OTHER: Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review: A racy QbA Riesling from the Rheingau alive with typicity of the grape and region. Oxidized apple, caramel apple, flint, petrol, and blossoms. This is a light-bodied wine at just 10% abv and slight frizzante detected. Lingering oxidized apple core finish. Serve well chilled and enjoy as an appetizer or with just about anything. Aging nicely in bottle and will continue to evolve over the next 10 years. Tasted: August 2016. OTHER: This is an astonishing value from one of the pre-eminent producers in the Rheingau. There is plenty of fruit flavour, vibrancy and depth as well as a hint of the petrol note so desirable in maturing Riesling, but it's the wine's stony core that stands out. Gorgeous. The sweetness here is perfectly balanced by the spine of firm acidity. Top-flight in every way. Try this with smoked fish, salty cheeses, or spicy Asian dishes. Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
