Rustic and full-bodied with sour cherry and wild tart blackberry. Cries out for food, especially anything with a tangy tomato sauce.

Reviews and Ratings

Gabriel Israel rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

I was expecting more. Perhaps needs time. Good, but not 'special'. The nose is superior to the palate. Medium body. Prunes. A bit bitter after-taste. Short-medium finish.
This wine was #60 in Wine Enthusiast’s Top 100 Wines of 2011. This flagship super Tuscan from Piccini shows us the serious winemaking potential of one of Tuscany’s most charismatic and playful wineries. The softness and richness of the wine is impressive and its long finish is driven forward by chocolate, red cherry and spice. Score: 92 Source: Monica Larner, Wine Enthusiast

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
