Reviews and Ratings

Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 94/100 with the following review:

Butterscotch galore! This sweet and beautifully balanced Brandy, made with PX (Pedro Ximenez) grape from the Jerez region of Spain, would be dynamite with holiday fruit cake, rum cake, or while enjoying a fine Cuban cigar, or one of my favourite non-Cuban sticks, a 1992 Vintage Rocky Patel. Very impressive Brandy that'd I'd highly recommend enjoying this holiday season. Score - 94. (Matt Steeves, quercusvino.ca, Nov. 2016)
This Brandy from Mendoza's Sanchez Romate Hnos Cardenal, Solera Gran Reserva is so named for Pedro González de Mendoza, advisor to 1400's Spanish Monarchs, Isabelle and Ferdinand. The brandy is aged in American oak casks previously used for Pedro Ximénez Sherry and Oloroso Sherry wines. - Community Wine Reviews

Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Rex Pickett, Sideways

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
