Reviews and Ratings

Buttery, rich and round Californian Chardonnay at a nice price. Aromas of toasted almond and golden apple. Full-bodied but not heavy. The grapes are sustainably farmed on California's central coast. Pair with roast chicken. MINE: From the Central Coast, California Ryder (2015) is a robust Chardonnay with grapes grown on a few of Ryder Estate's cool-climate vineyards; a portion of the wine was aged in oak. quarter of the wine was aged in oak. On the palate, the wine is ripe melon, pear and golden apples. Pair with grilled chicken breast. OTHER: Rachelle O'Connor rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review: A truly great Chardonnay grown in Ryder Estate's cool climate ocean influenced vineyards - the toasty notes compliment the zesty tropical fruit and intense pear flavors - well balanced acidity. Lovely! OTHER: Henney rated this wine as 82/100. OTHER: If you mistake this Cali Chard for a cool-climate wine, don't fret; it's not a mistake. The grapes for this wine are sourced from estate vineyards situated in the northernmost, coolest-climate region in Monterey County. Notions of peach, tropical fruit, vanilla and lightly toasty oak paint a vivid picture here. Pour with barbecued chicken or fish. (Vintages panel, Jan. 2018). - Community Wine Reviews

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
