Reviews and Ratings

Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Rutherford Ranch excels in the production of high quality, complex, and consumer friendly wines. The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon, from Napa Valley, shows concentrated deep dark fruit, sweet spice, vanilla, herbs and earthiness on the nose followed by a silky smooth and well integrated palate that perfectly integrates the refreshing fruit with the mouth covering tannins. Very well balanced and what a bargain for a beautiful Napa Cab! All in all, this is one heck of a sexy beast that's sure to please...Tasted September 2015. 91 points. Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

I always look forward to the quality liquid in a bottle of Rutherford Ranch wine. This Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon didn't disappoint me from the illustriously dark ruby colour in the glass to the lingering warm sweetness left on the tongue. In between there is the ripe black fruit, sweet baking spices, toasted oak, mushroom, and dried herbs. Full-bodied with polishing tannins and cleansing acidity. Excellent quality and a relative steal for a Napa Cab of this complexity. Drinking nicely now with some aging potential.
Tasted: January 2016
The 2011 vintage of the Rutherford Ranch Cabernet offers lots of pleasure in the glass. This robust Napa Valley red wine is a blend of 93% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Merlot, 2% Malbec, 1% Petit Verdot grapes with polish tannins. The wine was aged for more than 14 months in French and American oak barrels. Rutherford Ranch is family owned and managed. The winery is located on Napa Valley's renowned Silverado Trail surrounded by estate vineyards and a century-old olive grove. The grapes are sourced for diverse microclimates and join distinctive lots when blended for complexity and diversity within the winery's vineyard in the Napa appellation. Finishes with blackberry and boysenberry and smoke. Rutherford Ranch was selected as the Napa Valley Winery of the Year at the 2013 New York International Wine Competition. - Community Wine Reviews
