Savoury and meaty with mouth-watering acidity that's perfect for roast beef and brisket. Fleshy black plums and blackberry. Absolutely delicious! The 2014 vintage of this South African Merlot is aged in 55% French new oak barrels. Lots of black pepper and dark plums on the palate.

Merlot food pairings: grilled pork chops, rack of BBQ ribs, lentil dishes, veal Porterhouse, borscht.

Rustenberg Winery is one of South Africa's oldest wineries, founded in 1682. Since 1941, the Barlow family has owned and operated the winery, and the estate is not only a winery but a historic landmark of the story of South African wine, past, present and future. The 2014 Merlot is ripe red and dark plums, cherries and mocha on the nose and palate -- a very well-balanced and interesting Merlot with lots of future in it. - Community Wine Reviews

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
