Reviews and Ratings

Very tannic wine that needs cellar time to smooth out then 2 hours decanting. A dry, robust red wine with black fruit and smoke with great weight on the palate. Nicely balanced. Try this red wine with braai, the traditional South African barbecue. MINE: Rustenberg Rm Nicholson is a Shiraz, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon red wine blend from the Simonsberg-Stellenbosch wine region in South Africa. This wine is tannic and needs time, but there is a lot of black fruit, peppery spice and acidity to hold it together. Needs meat. Decant for two hours prior to serving or hold in cellar for three years. OTHER: This wine has long stood as an example of the refinement and quality to be found in South African red blends. Crafted from Shiraz, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, this was aged for 16 months in 20% new and 80% used American and French barrels. The used barrels included those seeing their second, third, fourth and fifth usage. You can expect impressive cassis and dark fruit with pepper spice accents. Perfect for lamb burgers (Vintages Panel, updated). - Community Wine Reviews

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
