This dry Hungarian white wine features aromas and flavours of bitter almond and other nuts, with lots of acidity. It's unusual and a good companion for fresh seafood. Medium-bodied.

Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Furmint is a white grape variety grown especially in Hungary, close to the Slovenian border. It is the principal grape used to produce the dessert wine Tokaji. Half the blend in this wine spent time in oak which accounts for the smokey nuance over the fruit. Fresh apple, pear, cirtrus, stone fruit, melon, grapes, minerality, flint. The palate is smooth with zippy acidity and dry. Long cleansing finish. Drinking well now but a year or two in the cellar will reward you. Pair with grilled salmon, grilled egg plant, deep fried prawns.

Sean O'Regan - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

Jan 31, 2015: Furmint is well known for producing sweet wines from Hungary but less common for this dry wine offering. Medium yellow with a green tint, the nose offers green apple, honeydew melon and a smoky/flinty note. Medium full on the palate and good acidity with honey, apple and lemon citrus flavors. The fruit is a bit lean for the level of alcohol though and finishes a little hot and bitter. Chill well and serve along with sushi or grilled chicken. 86/87
Furmint is the Tokaj region of Hungary's leading white wine grape. It's rarely seen outside the country however. Bitter, salty, and nutty aromas mingle on the nose and palate. - Community Wine Reviews
