Rotari Arte Italiana Brut from Trentino D.O.C. is a dry, light-to-medium-bodied sparkling wine of genuine Alpine freshness and character, made using the traditional method of secondary fermentation in bottle, just as they do in the Champagne region, and crafted from 100% Chardonnay grown on steeply terraced vineyards between 950 and 2,500 feet above sea level in the heart of the Italian Dolomites. The wine opens with an inviting nose of sun-warmed golden peach, toasted brioche, white blossom and a cool thread of chalk that mirrors the mountain minerality of the surrounding Adige Valley, carrying through to a lively, zesty palate with delicately persistent fine bubbles and a clean, refreshing finish. Rotari takes its name from the Lombard king Rotari, who fought in Trentino to conquer Italy, and the winery is today one of the largest traditional method sparkling producers in all of Italy, with vineyards benefiting from the remarkable dual influence of cold Alpine breezes from the north and warmer Mediterranean air drifting up from Lake Garda to the south. The Berlin Wine Trophy and the Indy International Wine Competition have both awarded the Arte Italiana Gold medals, recognizing the consistent quality and outstanding value this wine delivers. Serve it well chilled alongside crispy fried chicken with a lemon herb dipping sauce, where the wine's zesty acidity and fine bubbles cut through the richness with ease; it is equally at home with a fresh brunch quiche layered with mushrooms and gruyère, the wine's toasty depth and alpine freshness weaving through every forkful. Enjoy through 2034.
