Violets and rose petals on the nose, very tannic on the palate. Needs cellar time then decant 2 hours. Full-bodied with blackened fruit and earth. Pair with truffle accented risotto and wild boar.

Barolo food pairings: rabbit stew, roast pheasant, grilled venison steak.

Reviews and Ratings

Rocche Costamagna Rocche Dell'annunziata 2013 is a full-bodied and earthy Barolo from the Piedmont wine region. Lots of cheeeeewy tannins on this Barolo that would benefit from three to five years in cellar to show its best. Look for earthy violets, rose petals, black tea and leather, dark chocolate and citrus pith on the palate. - Community Wine Reviews

Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
