The 2013 vintage of Ridge's Monte Bello doesn't disappoint: towering, rich, deep, complex and long on the finish. This wine is the full package, but it needs serious cellar time before enjoying it. Black fruit, anise and dark spice. Pair with your grandchildren's wedding.

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: venison steak, prime rib roast, bison burgers.

Reviews and Ratings

The 2013 Monte Bello from Ridge has lots of acidity and tannin, and benefitted from warmer days and cooler nights than average this year. The ongoing Californian drought concentrated the size and flavour of the berries. Cabernet Sauvignon dominates in the blend, with less Merlot than in past years. Also coming on the market soon: Monte Bello Old Vines and Monte Bello Steep Terraces Cabernet Sauvignon wines. - Community Wine Reviews

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
