This full-bodied southern French red wine from the Rhone Valley is cedary with wild black fruit, cassis and blackcurrant. Excellent for the price. Robust and relatively smooth, though decant for 1 hour. Savoury and mouth-watering. Perfect for hearty meat dishes like prime rib.

Food pairings: slow-roasted beef, leg of lamb, grilled game sausages.

From the Côtes Du Rhône, Réserve Des Armoiries (2013) is a full-bodied 49% Grenache, 19% Syrah, 15% Carignan, 11% Cinsault and 6% Mourvèdre southern French red with dark and ripe black fruit, cedar and savoury spice. The wine was aged in oak barrel for just under a year. Lots of toasty oak, smoky spice and vanilla on the palate. - Community Wine Reviews

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
